Have a Magical Friday Night

Happy Friday!!

Dear readers, what are you up to this weekend? How was your week? We’re ending it on a high note, much higher than last week’s (which, let’s be honest, isn’t hard to beat). But like I wrote about in yesterday’s post, this week felt like the beginning of something great. Only time will tell!

Meanwhile, we checked in on Holiday House this afternoon and the drywall is 95% finished! I didn’t take any photos so you’re just going to have to take my word for it, but Iit looks incredible. After almost three years of working on this little cottage, it’s almost indescribable how good it feels to be at this stage. I need to think of a good word for it. What’s a word that better than great?

Also, as I’m writing this, PJ just fixed his farm truck that crapped out on us last week as we were pulling out of the gate to drive it home after the accident. Things are already looking up!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, loves. xoxo

Rainy Mornings at Home

Rainy Mornings at Home

I was woken up this morning to the sound of a torrential downpour happening just outside our windows. It was pitch black and the whole bedroom felt cool, dark, and safe, exactly the kind of combination that makes it extremely hard to get out of bed.

Have a Safe Friday Night

Happy Friday dear reader!

How was your week? What are you up to this weekend? We’re spending it with friends and family, starting tonight with dinner at home, courtesy of Matt and Beau who made a delicious chicken marsala for us yesterday for today’s dinner! When we told them about PJ’s wreck, they came up with the most thoughtful way to help, because truly, nothing says that someone is thinking of you like a home cooked meal.

Last night we went over to PJ’s mom’s house because his older sister and her four kids are in town, so we spent the evening eating burgers and playing games around the table. Then, the plan Sunday is to go out on the boat with my brother and his wife and a few of our friends. Soaking up all this family time and realizing these are the most important parts of life, especially since what happened this past week.

Speaking of, we both want to thank you all for the kind comments, messages, emails, and DM’s regarding PJ’s accident. Your love and support has been a bright spot in this otherwise horrible week. So thank you, thank you, thank you. I know PJ felt the immense love you sent him. We’re so grateful for this community that we’ve been lucky enough to call ours for the last eight years. We’re counting our blessings big time.

We started shopping for a new, bigger truck for PJ yesterday and today, and think we may have found just the one!! It’s so much more spacious and has all the room for the five of us, plus a much bigger bed, so it’ll be fun to take trips in as well. We’ll keep you posted on what we finally go with!

Hope you have a lovely weekend, friend. Stay safe. xoxo

Picking Blackberries at the Farm

Picking Blackberries at the Farm

This past weekend, the boys helped us pick fresh blackberries from all the bushes we have at the farm, and it made me realize something.

Have a Spectacular Friday Night

Happy Friday, loves!

What are you up to this weekend? We spent the day at the farm visiting with our cousin and her daughters and the kids had a ball running around and playing, and then we all went out to lunch afterwards. The rest of the day, for me, was spent editing an upcoming campaign while PJ was at the farm getting work done on Holiday House.

Anna has been at a little dance class for the last two days and tonight, she put on a performance for everyone. The whole family came to watch and I wish you could have seen her smile. She only smiles this certain way when she’s reeeeeeeally happy and giddy, and that’s how she was tonight. It’s a mega-watt smile that makes us completely light up. She did so great, but more importantly, she had a ton of fun. She’s always really been into dancing, so maybe there’s a creative outlet for her down the road with it.

Meanwhile, we’re on a total cleaning frenzy tonight. PJ is cleaning our bathroom from top to bottom, something that hasn’t been done with whoknowshowlong. I’ve been folding clothes for what seems like years and cleaning the kitchen while sipping on some wine. I find it weirdly comforting to clean late at night. Do you, too? It’s somehow slightly cozier than piling up on the couch to watch TV.

We’re off for the weekend, so have a good one!! xoxoxoxo

Front Porch Hangs

Front Porch Hangs

We spent the weekend mostly outside, and I felt particularly nostalgic for how we used to always hang out on the front porch when I was growing up.

Have a Lovely Friday Night

Happy Friday my loves!

How was your week? We officially made it through the first week of summer school for our boys, and it felt so good to be back on some sort of routine. I will be honest, I actually love the school year. I love waking up every day at the same time, dropping the kids off at school, getting some work accomplished, hitting the gym, making dinner, and doing it all over again. Routines help me feel like things are in order, or somewhat in order at least.

We just got back from the farm and are all pooped. The kids have been extra grouchy with each other lately, and I feel like I remember this happening last year at the beginning of summer, too. There’s always an adjustment period that we have to get through before settling in to summer. We’ll get there.

Have a lovely weekend!!!! xoxo
