The Word for the Day

Last night, as we were texting Matt & Beau, they asked us how we would describe our day in one word. Last night, I told them my word would be “relaxing”.

Today, PJ texted them a photo of us at the beach and told said his word would be “relax”. I like that we’re both on the same page here, because that’s exactly what we plan to do for the next couple of days. We both have a few work things to take care of and once those are complete, we plan on relaaaaaaaaxing for the rest of the time. Maybe I’ll even turn our out of office on.

Maybe. We’ll see. Probably not.

Have a Magical Friday Night

Happy Friday!!

Dear readers, what are you up to this weekend? How was your week? We’re ending it on a high note, much higher than last week’s (which, let’s be honest, isn’t hard to beat). But like I wrote about in yesterday’s post, this week felt like the beginning of something great. Only time will tell!

Meanwhile, we checked in on Holiday House this afternoon and the drywall is 95% finished! I didn’t take any photos so you’re just going to have to take my word for it, but Iit looks incredible. After almost three years of working on this little cottage, it’s almost indescribable how good it feels to be at this stage. I need to think of a good word for it. What’s a word that better than great?

Also, as I’m writing this, PJ just fixed his farm truck that crapped out on us last week as we were pulling out of the gate to drive it home after the accident. Things are already looking up!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, loves. xoxo

Rainy Mornings at Home

Rainy Mornings at Home

I was woken up this morning to the sound of a torrential downpour happening just outside our windows. It was pitch black and the whole bedroom felt cool, dark, and safe, exactly the kind of combination that makes it extremely hard to get out of bed.

Our First Official House Tour!

My loves, remember back in February when we teased something fun we filmed for the day? Well we can finally show you what it was: Our first official house tour we’ve ever done (after six years of living here, no less), and we filmed it with HGTV!

It only feels appropriate we shared our house with them behind the wheel, since they were the ones who filmed our house’s renovation back in 2016/2017 for our pilot Down to the Studs that premiered on HGTV back in the summer of 2017. It’s crazy to think that was six years ago. What is time anymore?

Anyway, in the tour we tell the story of our house, how I grew up here and how we bought it back, and show almost every room (with the exception of a few that we couldn’t show because they were in no way shape or form ready for cameras), explaining along the way the story behind every one. It was such a fun, exhausting day, and I love that we can finally see what we filmed all those months ago. We didn’t get to see any of the footage until it aired, which happened to be on the day of PJ’s accident, so we ended up watching our house tour from the emergency room. Life is kind of funny sometimes, isn’t it?

You can click here to watch, if you’d like!!
