Five Fall Activities I'm Looking Forward to This Year

By this point you already know that this blog becomes strictly and exclusively about fall this time of year, and this year is absolutely no different. With that being said, I am daydreaming about an endless list of activities I want us to do as a family this season.

It’s finally starting to get a little cooler here in Tennessee which is getting me even more excited for fall, so I wanted to put together a little list of some of the things I’m most looking forward to this year:

Go to an apple orchard

There is one about 45 minutes away and they make the most delicious apple fritters, jams, jellies, and so much more. The orchard tour is a highlight, especially when the colors on the trees are in peak fall colors.

Take everyone to a fall corn maze

We try to take the kids to this every year and every time they go they have a blast. Our son is actually going on a field trip there this week, but we’ll still plan to take all of them later this month. It feels so cozy and quaint and idyllic every time we go.

Bake yummy fall treats

My favorite part of fall is all the baking we do! Some of my favorites are pumpkin bread, cinnamon pumpkin bread (for a little twist), cinnamon rolls, and the above pumpkin olive oil cake with cinnamon cream cheese icing.

Paint and carve pumpkins

A few years back, we carved pumpkins at our farm with the kids and Matt and Beau and they kids LOVED it. So then last year, for a fun twist, we painted pumpkins at home with my friend Mallory and her girls. There were no rules; the kids were free to paint whatever they wanted and it was so fun to see what they all came up with.

Visit the downtown Apple Festival

Every fall, our little town turns into Stars Hollow and everyone you know goes downtown to the Apple Festival to eat every kind of candy apple imaginable, get their faces painted, and visit all the different booths. We all went last year, making our way passed all the pretty houses while stepping on all the crunchy orange and yellow leaves and it felt like the perfect fall activity to do as a family.
