Such a Fun Holiday Weekend
The holiday season is in full swing! If you follow us on Instagram, then you already know what we were up to this past weekend, but if not, let us just say this: we LIVE for the holidays and especially weekends like these!
We had out of town guests come to stay with us (our BFFs Matt & Beau from ProbablyThis) all the way from Louisiana. They got here on Thursday night just in time for our friend Jen’s holiday party in Chattanooga. We went to the same one last year which was a blast and this year was no different. The food, the drinks, the company, the music; all of it was so lovely and so appreciated.
It was nice to see some friends we hadn’t seen in a while and to get dressed up, especially since we’re usually in pajamas and sweat pants more times than not this time of year.
The gorgeous blonde woman we’re posing with in all of these pictures is Jen, the hostess with the mostess! She always throws the most fabulous parties and get togethers, with the most delicious food and cozy-comfy atmosphere. Did we mention she’s actual #goals? Marriage goals (her and her husband have been together 20 years!), house goals (that goes without saying), family goals (her kids are the actual sweetest) and friendship goals (she instantly becomes friends with anyone she meets and treats her friends with nothing but love and respect.) We are so fortunate to be able to call her a friend and to have her in our lives, and hate we don’t get to see her more often (we were out of town a lot this year) than we do! Jen, if you’re reading this, thank you for a wonderful night, as always. We love you!
The next day we had lunch in downtown Chattanooga and explored Warehouse Row, which included a stop at Anthropologie and a coffee break.
Later that night, we had our good friend Golden over and we all went live on YouTube, with some snacks and wine. We had so much fun and felt like we were on a talk show!
Also, how much does Matt & Beau’s dog Fox (left) look like our Jolie (right)? Every time they’re around each other, we always have the hardest time telling them apart.
On Saturday night, we all got ready and made the short trip to Chattanooga again for Thomas’ brother’s ugly Christmas sweater party! This is maybe his 3rd or 4th year doing it and it keeps getting better and better. This year, they made a drink that we actually had two nights before at Jen’s holiday party, Mistletoe Martini. It basically tastes like holiday & cheer in a cup. Delicious. We sang karaoke, ate too much charcuterie (jk is there even such a thing as too much charcuterie?), met friends new and old, and didn’t get home until after 1 am. It was all more than worth it, though :).
There’s a reason why this is our favorite time of the year, and it has everything to do with spending time with family and friends. We hope you had a good weekend, too, friends, and wish you the happiest of holidays until the new year begins!
