One Small Tip to Spice Up Your Relationship

The other day we tried something we’ve never done (together) before…

We went underwear shopping! Specifically, boxer-brief shopping for Thomas. A bit of background: Thomas hasn’t bought new underwear in years. Like, so long that he can’t remember the last time he did. He’s always just wore some that his mom bought him at Christmas or some old ones that PJ didn’t wear anymore.

Thomas has always seen underwear as something you just have to wear. They don’t have to look that good because, unless you’re PJ, you don’t see them underneath the pants you’re wearing. He doesn’t wear them with his swim trunks because that’s just not comfortable (seriously what is it about guys (mostly straight guys) wearing boxer-briefs under their trunks?) And no one has ever said anything to him about the type of underwear he wears. Until now, that is.

PJ casually mentioned to Thomas the other day about how the boxers he wears (not form-fitting or cute in the least bit) don’t really do anything for PJ. Read: they don’t turn him on. It was like a light bulb went off in Thomas’ head. Why had he never put any thought into his boxers until now?! He immediately suggested they go underwear shopping, and PJ eagerly obliged.

Thomas has been wearing boxers since middle school. Not sure why, they’re just what has always been comfortable to him. PJ is a boxer-briefs kind of guy, so PJ suggested we shop for some of those. We went to Target and settled on some fun boxer-briefs in a couple of different colors. Nothing too flashy yet, we have to take things slow here. One baby step at a time. Thomas is still getting used to all of the control the briefs have. And PJ is getting still getting used to seeing Thomas in something fun, sexy, and different.

It’s fun to change things up every now and then, don’t you think? Maybe a new haircut or hair color, maybe a new tattoo or pair of pants you wouldn’t normally wear, or maybe even a new pair of boxer-briefs that are normally out of your comfort zone, but you want to feel sexy for your partner, so you go for it and realize you actually like them for yourself, too.

Do you have any tips to spice up your relationship? Don’t be shy, we would love to hear!
