What It’s Been Like Working Together From Home

What It’s Been Like Working Together From Home

It’s been exactly three weeks of being home and working together every day. Here’s how that’s going…

Thomas quit his 9-5 job back in February after deciding to focus full time on our business and getting the venue/cottages up and running. It wasn’t an easy decision, but we felt the timing was right, especially since we were about to be gone for three straight weeks in work trips.

Remember how crazy last month was? First we partnered with Celebrity Cruises in the Caribbean, then we went to Las Vegas with Samsung for the KBIS show, and finally ended up in Disney World for a few days touring their resorts. It was a whirlwind, but we never stopped having fun. Then we came home and it was back to reality. But it was a brand new reality for us because for the first time since Thomas quit, we were both at home working together every. single. day.

It was an adjustment, that’s for sure. But at the same time it was almost like a test, like a test to our marriage or a new challenge that we were supposed to experience nine years into our relationship. It was new terrain, and we were both excited and nervous to explore it.

There have been some hard situations, mostly because we both work very differently. PJ is very structured, likes to accomplish his tasks fast and right away, and very type A. Thomas is very type B, so he is more laid back and lenient with his work. He still gets it done, but it’s been an excercise in patience and compromise for us to get a handle on working from home together. We don’t always agree, contrary to what some people think online, and we have argued and made up and gotten angry and apologized and been upset and gotten over it, over and over while we figure out how to best work together, efficiently.

For the most part, though, it’s been great. We don’t have to constantly call or text each other to discuss a deal or which picture to post, we just walk two steps to do it now. We eat lunch together every day (PJ doesn’t eat breakfast and sleeps in a little later than Thomas does) which is basically our favorite activity to do, and now Thomas has more time to spend with the fur babies. We’ve been shooting a new YouTube video almost everyday which is boosting our moral and getting us so excited about growing our YouTube audience.

Overall it’s been a fun, exciting, hard, challenging, and wonderful experience so far, and just like anything else in life, we’re going into this new chapter in our lives with optimistic minds and hearts, and above all else, we’re going into it together. We can’t thank you enough for your support through all this, it truly means the world to us. Stay tuned this year- it’s going to be a good one ❤️.

PS: have you ever worked together with your spouse everyday? Have any tips you want to share?
