In honor of World Refugee Day tomorrow, we wanted to share some infographics that break down the numbers on refugees and forcibly displaced people around the world, courtesy of USA for UNHCR. The stats are mind blowing, but hardly surprising. The number of forcibly displaced people throughout the world grows every year, and there are now around 79.5 million people worldwide who are displaced, with an estimated 30-34 million of those being children, or around 40%. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Though these numbers are high, and there’s still an enormous amount of work to do and people to help, there were around 107,800 refugees resettled in 2019, so there is hope. There is always hope.
