Was This The Longest Week In History?
/Hi friend,
Doesn’t it seem like this was the week that would never end? I kept feeling like every day that passed seemed to last forever. On the contrary, PJ felt like it went by in a flash. Isn’t it funny how we live under the same room, share a life together, and yet our perspectives are still so different?
He’s been working nonstop at the flip house this week while I’ve been home with the kiddos teaching, feeding, bathing, holding the fort down, etc. I’m so happy it’s Friday you don’t even KNOW. Or maybe you do? Was the week everlasting for you, too?
Beyond just the home front, this week has been hard for so many. The fires in California are absolutely heartbreaking and seem to be just one more thing to define this awful, awful year. Click here for ways to help out, if you can. Sending love to everyone affected by them.
Also, today is the 19th anniversary of September 11, 2001. I will never forget that I was in my 5th grade classroom with the rest of my class huddled around an old TV with our teachers watching the second plane hit the Twin Tower. I didn’t understand what was going on and had never even heard of the World “Train” Center before. I remember it like it was yesterday, though I couldn’t grasp the severity of it at the time. What a horrific day for all. It’s crazy and unbelievable to think it’s been 19 years, isn’t it? How does it feel like a lifetime ago and like it was yesterday all at the same time?
My mom took this photo in 1995 and it’s always been one of our favorites. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to see the Twin Towers in person.
I hope you take this weekend to relax (if you can), find peace (if you can), and give yourself a little love (if you can). I’m pouring a glass of wine as we speak and about to eat some pizza. Have a lovely weekend.
TGIF friend!! xoxoxo
