A New Rug in the Living Room: Lauren Liess x Rugs USA

A New Rug in the Living Room: Lauren Liess x Rugs USA

We have adored Lauren Liess for years, both personally and professionally, so when we saw she had a new rug collection with RugsUSA coming out, we were so incredibly excited for her and eager to see what the rugs would look like!!

A few weeks ago, we received an email from a contact on the Rugs USA team asking if we would be open to receiving one of Lauren’s new rugs, and when I tell you I gasped and immediately ran to PJ shaking my phone, I was so excited. Lauren is extremely talented and puts 110% into everything she does, so I knew her rugs were going to be gorgeous, I just didn’t know they were going to be this gorgeous.

The rug we already had in our living room was also from Rugs USA and we loved it. It was a big jute rug, but after we had our two new farm pups living with us for a few weeks earlier this year, they kind of went to town on it (chewed it, peed on it, etc etc) in certain places. SO, we felt like it was the perfect timing for a switch anyway.

I love the look of a jute rug, especially with the white walls, white couch and leather chairs, so I am going to miss that rug in the living room, but I take comfort in the fact that the new rug is so beautiful. I think we will probably do a few jutes at Holiday House.

Side note: can you even handle all the natural light that the living room gets this time of year?

Our new rug is the Beige Myrtle Washable Vintage Area Rug. Did you see that middle word? WASHABLE. My favorite part of the entire thing. We’ve never had a washable rug before, but I love the idea of just loading it up, taking it to the laundromat and washing it until it’s brand new again. It feels so good under our feet, too. It’s not too thick, which makes it super comfortable and sleek to walk on. I also love how it looks like an antique, which means we get the look of an older rug but the ease and convenience of a new one. Score.

The living room feels cozier and more lived-in now, which is always my favorite look. And while I love jute rugs so much, this rug is already so much easier to keep clean. The pattern on this rug is also great for all the foot traffic this room gets since it leads to our back porch and people (and animals) are constantly going in and out at all hours of the day.

And on another side note: this is what the living room looks like without any rug. I was so tempted to leave it like this because we never get to fully see our wood floors and appreciate how beautiful they are!

Swoon. Anyway, congratulations to Lauren Liess on her new rug collection with Rugs USA!!! You can view all the rugs in her gorgeous collection here.
