Hey you

Welcome to the blog. Here you’ll find daily dispatches and all the musings of our family’s adventures in our small town as we raise our kids, fix up our farm, and renovate houses, all through the lens of Keep & Delete, where we share the best (Keep) and worst (Delete) part of every day. We Finally Framed PJ’s Paintings for the Living Room

We Finally Framed PJ’s Paintings for the Living Room

After sitting in our laundry room for a year, PJ’s paintings are framed and hung for everyone to see. Spoiler alert: They look so good!

He started getting into painting during the pandemic, using it as a creative outlet but also as a way to reduce his overall anxiety. He’s done many paintings in the last three years, with several already hanging in the living room, but one of my favorites remained just sitting in the laundry room for almost a year, until now.

I love the colors he used in the painting above. The mustard yellow. The soft but warm blue. The shadow behind the ball. I don’t think art always has to mean something, it can just be.

Last week, I took two of his pieces to Michael’s to get them framed and just picked them up yesterday. I immediately loved them even more now that they were officially in a wooden frame! I can’t wait to show you the other one, but something tells me you’ll be seeing it in the next few months for a fun, special surprise we have planned. More on that at a later date!

I suppose we can all learn something from PJ’s hobby: It’s always exciting to try something new, something you’ve never really done before, whether to help destress or just for fun. He paints because he enjoys it, because it brings him comfort and peace in a world that seems to have anything but. It’s never too late to start something new, is it?

And who knows? It might even end up in a frame on the living room wall.
