A Family-Filled Evening on the River

Last night, we celebrated my little sister’s 29th birthday at my brother’s house on the river.

I can’t believe she’s already 29 (we’re both Aries if you can believe it), because I still view her as maybe 14? Don’t all older siblings do that? But nope, she’s a grown woman with a solid career and a loving fiancé. It felt good to all get together and celebrate her.

My brother’s house is perfect for entertaining and has a huge backyard that the kids love to play in, especially rolling down the hill over and over again.

Meanwhile, inside we were all pitching in to make dinner. I made the salad dressing, my sister did the garlic bread, and my mom made the spaghetti sauce. I can’t tell you how much I love everyone crammed into a kitchen, talking over one another, sipping on wine, and listening to music. It’s like all of my favorite things mashed up into one.

Give me the loud family dynamic any day of the week and I’ll be just fine.

It felt so nice for everyone to be together for a night. I feel like that’s been happening quite often over the last few weeks, and we’ll all be together again this weekend for our oldest’s birthday.

Lastly, please look at how handsome PJ looks in his shorts and t-shirt. I love that we’re having warmer weather here finally!!!
