A Little Spring Cleaning

Today was another one of those days where I woke up in a great mood. The entire house slept in until 9, which never happens, but I know we were all so grateful for it (and all really needed it, apparently).

After my coffee, I set out about cleaning the house. I folded approximately 921 pieces of clothing, both little and big, deep cleaned the stove for the first time in whoknowshowlong, did the dishes, put said clothes away, and vacuumed the downstairs.

I didn’t touch the upstairs (kids’ rooms, bathroom, and landing) because that’s an entire weekend project in and of itself that I didn’t have in me to tackle today, but we’re getting there. I like picking up on Sundays to start the week off with at least a somewhat clean house. It just feels good to wake up on Monday and know you have a few less things to do.

Speaking of feeling good, the weather has been most delicious today, so we spent a lot of it outside: PJ took the kids on a run around the neighborhood and did some DIY projects (that you can see this coming week on Instagram and TikTok) on the back porch. Then, we spent a few minutes in the backyard- PJ pruning and me admiring the flowers and all the grass we suddenly have back there. My allergies have decided to hold off today, allowing me to make the most of this perfect spring day with the cool breeze and warm sun.

I love this time of the year! Look how pretty all the flowers our in our backyard (which I now want to start calling “our garden” like the English do).

I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday.
