How to Put Your Knives Away the Right Way

Maybe this is common sense, or maybe you’ve been doing this for years, but I just discovered how to actually put your knives away correctly.

File this under one of the more random posts on the blog, but as I was scrolling through Instagram the other day, Ina Garten popped up on my feed with a video showing how she puts her own knives away, and it was genius. How have I never thought of this?

Here’s how you do it:

Instead of putting them in with the blade down, turn the knife around so the blade faces up, this way it won’t dull as quickly every time you put it in. In the video she says, “If you put it in right side, the usual way, as you put it in, the blade is scraping against the wood and I don’t think it’s good for the blade.”
