Our Spooky Halloween Mantel
We’re a little behind with decorating it, but better late than never I always say.
PJ put up our trusty fireplace decor this past weekend in preparation for our annual Halloween party tomorrow, and every year I get the warmest, coziest feelings seeing it up. Halloween/fall/spooky season is our favorite time of the year (after Christmas), and living downtown, everyone goes all out with their decor, which makes it even more magical.
I love that he put those little skeleton rats (I think that’s what they are?) on top of the sconces. He is very detail oriented, if you couldn’t tell ;). It’s all about the little things!
We haven’t bought new decorations for the mantel in so long because sometimes, when something just works for you, there’s no need to change it every year. The items are a mix of homemade (the paintings, the labels on the wine bottles) and store-bought (the spiders, pumpkins and gourds), and each one is my favorite.
PJ always does such a great job of creating a mood and an atmosphere with his decorations, and spends so much time putting these things together for the family. He decorated the whole outside of our house last week, staying out until 9p to get it just right. Our hero!
How cute are these homemade spiders we made with the kids three years ago?
With all the candles lit, sconces on, and the fireplace going, this room is the coziest in the whole house.
Happy Halloween!
