DIY Halloween Heads in a Jar
When my sister-in-law sent us this video of a clever and spooky Halloween DIY, we knew immediately we had to do it with our family this year.
The best part is, it’s all super easy and took no time at all to put together. Make sure you save this so you can do this craft next year! Here’s how to make it:
What You’ll Need
A large glass jar (pickle or mason jars work great)
High-quality photo of a face (front and side view are ideal)
A color printer
Clear packing tape (optional for sealing photo)
Directions
Take the Photo. Take a photo (we just used our iPhones) of your face smooshed up against a sheet of glass (a window or a door) so that it looks like your face is crammed up against the jar in the final result.
Print and Prepare the Image. Print the image on glossy paper and adjust the size to fit your jar. Trim any excess paper, leaving the head with a clean border. For added protection, laminate with clear packing tape, especially if you want to reuse it next year.
Position in the Jar. Carefully place the photo inside the jar (we used a half-gallon sized jar), curving it around so the face is visible through the glass. Make sure it’s snug and facing forward.
Seal and Display. Tighten the lid, and you’re ready to spook your guests! Place it on a shelf or a counter where it’ll catch everyone’s eye (and give them a little scare!).
That’s it! This “Head in a Jar” DIY is fun, affordable, and just the right amount of creepy for Halloween. Enjoy!!!
