A Nostalgic and Festive Entryway For the Holidays

There’s something magical about walking up to a front door that radiates holiday cheer. With the right decor, you can transform your entryway into a warm and festive welcome for guests, and Amazon’s new Shop by Holiday feature makes it simple to find everything you need.

Step 1: Start with Garland To create a lush frame for the entryway, PJ began by securing two strands of 9-foot garland with cable ties. Pro tip: fastening the garland tightly at a few points ensures it stays in place throughout the season, even in winter weather.

Next, PJ carefully wrapped the garland around half of the entryway. As you work, make sure to fluff every branch of the garland to give it a full and natural appearance. This small step makes a big difference!

Step 2: Add Ornaments Here’s where the magic happens. PJ used ornaments in different colors and styles, alternating them along the garland for a balanced and classic look. By sticking to a cohesive color palette—think reds, golds, and silvers—you can achieve a timeless holiday aesthetic.

To attach the ornaments securely, use ornament hooks or small, discreet zip ties. Fluff the garland as you go to make room for each ornament and ensure it sits snugly in place.

Step 3: Repeat on the Other Side Once the first half of the entryway was complete, PJ mirrored the steps on the other side. This creates a symmetrical, polished look that frames your doorway beautifully.

Step 4: Top It Off with a Pre-Lit Wreath For the finishing touch, PJ hung a pre-lit wreath centered on the door. To tie the look together, he added matching ornaments from the garland. A pre-lit wreath not only makes decorating easier but also adds a warm, inviting glow to the entryway at night.
