Student of the Month + A Ray of Sunshine

I hate love to be one of those parents who brags on their kids, so I am going to go ahead and leave this here as we head into the weekend: Anna came home from school today, and with a sly smile and a big jolt, she whipped out of her backpack a certificate that said she won Student of the Month! She was jumping for joy and we were, too. So proud of our girl. Both of our boys won this award for the same month last year, which I just realized as I was typing this. What are the odds?!

As if that weren’t enough, Allan, our oldest, pulled out a certificate of his own that he won during a little awards ceremony for his class today: he won the Ray of Sunshine award!! Which makes sense, because he always has the brightest smile and loves making people laugh. He didn’t get in trouble at school even once this year, and we are so beyond proud of him, too.

Such great news to take with us into the weekend. The only delete for the day? It has rained nonstop, which made for a dreary, gloomy day, but is making for one cozy Friday night. Anna is spending the night with my mom, so it’s a boys night here, which means takeout and Avatar: The Last Airbender on the couch.
