A Few Things This Week
/It’s dreary and rainy today (the perfect fall day), so I wanted to share a few things that brightened up our week, starting with…
When the kids got home from school yesterday, Anna and PJ were on the couch reading her new book and it was adorable listening to her. She kept laughing at not being able to read one of the words in the book, a word that PJ had already told her what it was three times. I couldn’t help but laugh, too, when they told me the word was “Oh.”
We started a new-to-us show on Netflix this weekend called Archive 81. Have you ever seen it? We’d never even heard of it until PJ stumbled across it and it’s SO GOOD. It’s part horror part suspense and so addicting. It’s about a man hired by a mysterious company to restore old video tapes taken by a young woman in the early 90’s as she was investigating a spooky old apartment building in NYC. But then, weird events start occurring in both the past and the present that could potentially link them both. It’s chilling and the perfect show to watch this time of year.
We got this humungous fall candle a few weeks back from Slatkin & Co. (sending a big thank you to them!) and it fills all of Holiday House with the most dreamy fall scent. The picture doesn’t do the size justice. It’s the biggest candle I’ve ever seen and the description says it will burn for up to 125 hours.
Our friend Carlos texted us last night asking if he could come over after dinner because he had “a surprise for the kids,” which also turned out to be a surprise for me, too. Do you have a Crumbl Cookies where you live? They make quite possibly the best cookies of all time and my favorite is the sugar cookie with pink icing, which Carlos made sure to pick up just for me. How sweet is that?
