Holiday House For the Night

Keep: Tonight was a night that we have dreamt about for four years. We packed everything up, though notably not as much as last weekend since we left a bunch of stuff here, and came out here this afternoon to spend the night. We would have been out here last night, but we went to The United Way gala instead and had a ball (also the reason I didn’t do Keep & Delete last night!). We stayed up WAY too late and didn’t wake up until 10am, which meant we got out to the farm pretty late today. Still, this evening was perfect.

PJ made a fire while the kids ran around playing on the hills.

Then, down at our pavilion, PJ made another fire and we relaxed by it for a bit.

It’s currently 64 degrees and feels like fall. I needed a sweater tonight, but the fires (and the overwhelming feeling of joy) kept me warm. For a moment I was so happy on the hillside staring at the mountain while the fire warmed my back that I could’ve cried. PJ has worked so hard to make this dream a reality for our family, and tonight felt like the four years of very, very, very hard work had paid off. I couldn’t love that man more if I tried.

Delete: Like I mentioned, we didn’t get out to Holiday House until around 3p since we stayed up so late, and I couldn’t have stood to get out here just a smidge earlier.
