We Just Finished the Most Beautiful, Heartbreaking Show
/We binged the whole thing in two nights and we’re really hoping there will be a second season.
Have you seen Modern Love on Amazon Prime? It’s one of those easy-to-watch, bingeable series that’s only about 30 mins an episode AND each one is a different story line with a different cast, so it feels new and fresh, and like you’re seeing into multiple people’s lives each time a new episode starts. The show is set against the charming backdrop of New York City, the most magical place on earth (and where every good RomCom should take place), with every episode highlighting a different type of, what’s the word…heartbreak? But it’s so much more than that! It is “modern love” in every sense, and according to Deadline, the show explores "love in its multitude of forms – including sexual, romantic, familial, platonic, and self love."
The show is an adaptation from the New York Times weekly column of the same name. How cool would it be to go back and read some of the articles that the show is based on? We’ve never heard of the article before the show, but it’s been in publication for 15 years now. Have you read it before?
There are some big, recognizable names in this show like Tina Fey, Catherine Keener, Dev Patel, Ed Sheeran (randomly), but the episode we loved the most by far was the one with Anne Hathaway. It was so beautiful and real and heartbreaking, and it showed a side of a topic that we haven’t seen in major TV show before. It’s the best one in our opinion & we highly recommend you start with it!
Have you seen this show? Did you love it as much as we did? We’re hoping for a season 2 ASAP!
