This Saturday, 6/20, is World Refugee Day. Working with USA for UNHCR, we will be posting ways of how you can help the worldwide refugee crisis and other resources in the coming days.
The goal of this day is to celebrate and honor refugees and former refugees around the world and amplify their voices/stories in order to educate others. In celebration of World Refugee Day, USA for UNHCR is releasing a new story of a resettled refugee named Wandaka Musongera, producing some live online events, and promoting a petition to help refugees stay safe during coronavirus.
First up, here’s a little about Wandaka’s story, courtesy of USA for UNHCR:
“Wandaka is a resettled refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Now, living in Texas, Wandaka works as the Assistant Farm Manager at New Leaf Agriculture—a social enterprise delivering fresh vegetables to nearly 100 families every week—where he is using his passion for farming and the skills he learned in the DRC to feed his community during the coronavirus pandemic.”

Together, one by one, we can all make a difference in the lives of many. xx
