Hey you

Welcome to the blog. Here you’ll find daily dispatches and all the musings of our family’s adventures in our small town as we raise our kids, fix up our farm, and renovate houses, all through the lens of Keep & Delete, where we share the best (Keep) and worst (Delete) part of every day. Thanks for stopping by! We’re so glad you’re here.

Mail Call: Books and Books and Books

Mail Call: Books and Books and Books

I can’t even handle y’all.

You show our family so much kindness and love. How can we ever say thank you enough? We went to the PO Box the other day, after not checking it for a few weeks due to traveling, and our hearts pretty much exploded when we opened it. Aren’t books just about the best gifts one could receive?

First, a sweet reader named Will sent us his brand new book called With Your Friends, which follows a boy named Peter, who has a pretty bad home life, as he navigates his way through his parents’ divorce and his budding friendship (romance?) with his new friend Ryan. I have been reading pages here and there and I can’t wait to fully dive in. It looks so good. Thank you so much, Will, and congratulations on your book!!!

Next, Paul Castle (a blind artist living in Seattle, who you might already be following on social media!) sent us his beautiful children’s book Pengrooms, which follows the story of Pringle and Finn, “two penguins with big hearts, as they deliver wedding cakes to their friends in the animal kingdom. Each cake tells a story, and each wedding offers a challenge that they must face together. The Pengrooms is an enduring tale about love, diversity, and the importance of working as a team.” Doesn’t that sound so lovely? Our kids are going to love reading this book before bed, and yay for more children’s books about love and diversity! Thank you, Paul!!!

And lastly, we received a super neat and whimsical book from our dear friend Linda, called Herbcraft, which is a “compendium of myths, romance and commonsense.” The book explains that herbcraft is “science to the botanist, art to the cook, and Everyman’s passport to a personalized palate. Its practice will make your kitchencraft different from every other one in the world.” SO COOL. I found myself pouring through the book, fascinated by all the recipes and herbs and what they’re used for. The only catch is: this book is not for us. She sent it for Dixie! Isn’t that so sweet? We love that y’all have grown to know and love Dixie through our YouTube videos. Linda, thank you so much dear. We love you!!!

So there you have it. I don’t know what we did to deserve y’all, but we are endlessly grateful for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
