Have a Sweet Friday Night
/Dear reader, how was your week? What are you up to this weekend?
As I am writing this, I am stirring a creamy red sauce in our Dutch oven while the kids watch TV in the living room beside me. PJ just got back from his run. Friday night at home is just about the best place I can think to start the weekend at, don’t you think? Something about cozying up on the couch, covering up with a blanket with a big bowl of popcorn just feels so comforting, especially because there was a slight chill in the air all day. Total bliss.
Tomorrow we have two birthday parties in the morning and then one at 5p, which is a record for us. Never have we ever had three parties in one day, but I for one am very excited about it. If staying in sounds like the perfect way to spend a Friday night, parties and cake feels just about the perfect way to spend a Saturday.
In other news, we got a quick surprise visit from my mom this morning before she headed out to Georgia for the weekend, and she came bearing her famous baklava. Seriously, if you haven’t tried it, and I’m assuming you haven’t, please take it from me that it is the best baklava in the entire world. My mouth waters just thinking about it. I think I will have another small piece after dinner tonight. Why is everything mom makes better than anyone else?
PJ is now practicing counting by two’s with Anna in the dining room and the boys just changed into their Little Sleepies. Friday night has officially commenced.
Hope you have a great weekend, friends! xoxo
