Hey you,

Welcome to the blog. Here you’ll find daily dispatches and musings of our family’s life in a small town as we raise our kids, fix up our farm, and renovate houses. Thanks for stopping by! We’re so glad you’re here.

Homemade Delights

Homemade Delights

If you are lucky enough to have friends who drop off homemade chicken noodle soup and a loaf of homemade bread when because they know you’re sick, then you’re pretty darn lucky enough.

Such was the case today when our friend Matt dropped off soup he made, and a delicious loaf of bread his husband Beau made. And you know what else was made? My day. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I don’t think there’s anything sweeter or more caring than making food for someone. A huge thank you to Matt & Beau!!!

Also today, PJ worked with Allan on his solar system project and it turned out so cute. He and Riah are learning about planets in school and I find it endlessly cute when they come home and tell me facts about them. Riah can list all the planets in order!

Aren’t the planets gorgeous? This is the first, big, official school project Allan has had and tonight I’m feeling thankful for a husband who is creative and likes to work with our kids at making sure everything they do looks good.

Meanwhile, I officially lost my taste today. I think it’s just because of my stuffy nose and all the drainage. I should be on the mend by tomorrow!

Something that’s also made everything a little better is that every night when I tuck our daughter in, she says, “Daddy, I’m sorry you’re so sick.” And I think that has healing powers all on its own.
