The End of an Era

After searching high and low for over a year for our beloved 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser, and then finally buying it in 2018, we have decided to part ways and put it up for sale.

We love this car so, so much, and kind of thought we would have it forever, but in an effort to perpetually minimize and simplify our life, we made the admittedly tough decision to get rid of it. There’s nothing really wrong with it, except for the sunroof that is leaking, which we fully disclosed in the listing, but other than that it runs perfectly, even with over 200k miles on it. That’s why people (including us) go crazy over these things: they truly last forever and will hardly ever give you any issues.

PJ put it on Facebook Marketplace two days ago and this morning, a man from Nashville handed us a check and drove off with it and that was that. It’s gone, and with it, a chapter in our life has closed. We’ve taken this thing everywhere, from our farm to road trips to the beach to the mountains and back. It’s a comfortable car and a safe one. It’s been a great family vehicle and it’s super fun to drive. I always say it feels like a giant, cozy hug inside. It feels like home, and we both will miss it dearly.

And I think this will be my Keep AND my Delete for the day.
