Home Again
/After spending the weekend in South Georgia with my sister and her family attending my niece’s high school graduation (more on that in tomorrow’s newsletter!), I got home last night close to midnight and let out a sigh of relief. It felt so good to be home, as it always does, even after only being gone a day in a half.
Home is where we keep the things we’ve collected over the years displayed on bookshelves and our mantle. Home is where my kids sleep soundly at night and run around during the day. Home is where our little old dogs live. Home is where I get to do life with my best friend and the man I’ve loved for the last 14 years. Home is where I am happiest.
Basically, home is everything to me. You, too?
My only delete for the day was being away from my family, with PJ and Anna FaceTiming me last night with tears in her eyes as she said, “Daddy I miss you.” We were driving home but still three hours away, and it broke my heart. I don’t think missing them will ever get easier.
