We Officially Have Appliances at the Beach Shack

After a year of being able to stay at our little cottage by the ocean, we finally have some working appliances! Tonight, our stove got delivered, which means we can cook actual meals and not rely on our microwave to eat. PJ also brought over an old fridge from our other little beach shack down the road that we’re using until we pick out a new one. That may be on the next trip.

We went with a Frigidaire stove, and the refrigerator we eventually get will be the matching one. Excited to try these out! We haven’t used electric appliances in about a decade. When it was delivered and the kids saw the stove for the first time, Anna said, “You see nothing! Just the white stuff on top!” Meaning there are no grates for the gas, just a smooth surface. Isn’t it funny what kids notice?

Our washer and dryer also got delivered tonight!! Now we can wash our clothes and towels and not have to pack so much to get us through our stay. This is what progress and excitement looks like, people! It will be so nice to have fresh, clean towels after a week of reusing them and hanging them up to dry.

So excited to make this place feel more like home, and all of these changes and updates are doing just that.
