Hey you

Welcome to the blog. Here you’ll find daily dispatches and all the musings of our family’s adventures in our small town as we raise our kids, fix up our farm, and renovate houses, all through the lens of Keep & Delete, where we share the best (Keep) and worst (Delete) part of every day. Thanks for stopping by! We’re so glad you’re here.

Our First Night Staying at Holiday House

Our First Night Staying at Holiday House

Keep: And finally, after renovating it for almost 4 years, we officially spent the night at Holiday House for the first time last night. We woke up in a new but familiar house, a house we’ve been to more times than we can count over the last few years, but haven’t stayed in it since it was a double wide trailer more than three years ago.

We brought both cars out to the farm since we had so much stuff to bring, and still forgot a few things back home. PJ brought Josie in for a bit to say hi:

It took us a few hours to wash everything and get the house comfortable, and before you knew it, Matt and Beau, who live just down the road, came over with dinner for our first night. We drank wine and PJ made some Moscow Mules while they roasted the chicken in the oven and caught up on the last few weeks. It was so nice having them here on the first night, and is there anything sweeter than making dinner for your friends as they celebrate their new place? The best friends ever.

After dinner, PJ and Beau said hi to the donkeys just outside:

And the kids got ready for bed in their new rooms:

It was easy to fall asleep after such a long day. We were exhausted, and all the hard work of the last four years had finally paid off. I think we’re going to like it here.

Delete: We didn’t get everything we wanted to accomplished before heading out to the farm, and like I said, we forgot a couple of things, too. But these are very small things. Overall it was such a good day.
