Pool Day

Keep: We drove out to PJ’s aunt’s pool for a little Labor Day pool party. We thought it was supposed to rain all day, but it luckily turned out to be pretty beautiful, and the rain didn’t come until the end of the day when we were all finished.

His aunt and uncle, who feel more like second (or technically fifth?) grandparents to our children, made pulled pork and baked beans and homemade ice cream for lunch.

In between eating, our little fish were in the pool nonstop, jumping and sliding and diving and flipping in and out all day. They’re all such good swimmers and I was telling PJ earlier, I could sit and watch them play and laugh with each other all day. It’s so sweet and cute to me. Between her pool and the beach house, our babies have grown up around water and are such good swimmers.

Overall it was a perfect family day and I am feeling so grateful tonight that our family lives so close by. I don’t know how we would make it through life without them.

Oh! Lastly, this morning we were sitting in the living room at Holiday House watching TV when PJ’s eyes suddenly got wide and he told us all to look outside the window. Lo and behold, there was a mamma deer and her two fawns right outside up the hill. I took a photo and you can see one of them in it, but you might have to zoom.

Have I mentioned how much we all love it out here?

Delete: We go back home tomorrow. And while there’s no place like home, and Holiday House doesn’t really feel like home yet anyway, I don’t think we’re ready to leave it. There’s always next weekend!
