PJ’s Dad’s Farm
/With his older sister (and her husband and kids) in town from Virginia Beach last week, we spent almost every night out at PJ’s dad’s farm. It’s colder out there than it is in town, but you would never know it from how the kids ran around playing without coats on, no matter how many times we offered them.
PJ’s sister has four kids, and often times even more kids would show up to play, so there were sooooo many kids running around the farm, just like PJ and Meagan used to do when they were little. PJ’s dad had all these hay bales that the kids absolutely went wild over, and played on them for hours. And to be honest, all the adults kind of did, too.
Did you know we lived out there for about a year around 12 years ago? The sunsets are breathtaking at the farm. PJ always talks about how much fun it was to grow up on all these hundreds of acres, and I can see why.
The best part was seeing PJ and Meagan together, watching their own kids play with each other on the farm they grew up on. What a full-circle moment, kind of like how we get every day with our kids growing up in the house I was raised in.
Life can be so beautiful sometimes, don’t you think?
