An Update on Josie

Last summer, our lives were ~ blessed beyond compare ~ when a teeny tiny little pig was born as the result of a wild boar sneaking into our farm and mating with one of our mini pot-belly pigs. Actually, there were four little piglets born all together, but Josie was the only one that survived (we’re honestly not even sure how the others died), and even that was by a long shot.

PJ happened to turn around at the top of the hill and saw this little brown blur run across the farm road. He ran to see what it was, and it was our precious baby Josie!

He brought her home to our house in town where she lived for the next two months. We were all obsessed and fell in love immediately. She became part of the family right then and there.

Look at how little she was!!

For the longest time, we weren’t sure how big she would get because she was just so small, but eventually she started to grow. And grow. And grow some more. Until finally, this is what our precious baby Josie looks like today:

A woman!!!!

She follows us all over the farm when we’re there. We we go, Josie is right by our side. She jumps up to get our hand because PJ trained her to eat like that when she lived with us. She's like a little (big?) dog, who is so sweet and loving and still so cuddly.

We moved her out to the farm last fall so she could be with all the other animals and so she’d have plenty of space to run free. Our little backyard in the middle of town wasn’t cutting it for her, though I do think she misses our family sometimes when we come to the farm by the way she follows us all around. It’s so sweet but also kind of heartbreaking.

We love our little Josie Boarhog McKay (her full name) and can’t imagine Ocoee Farm without her.
